Laundry Tip: How to wash sequined or embellished items

So we all love the sequin trend! Sequined mini dresses, embellished tops, beaded sweaters, but it can really be a budget buster if you have to spend $20 dry cleaning your item every time you wear it. Here is an easy trick that will allow you to wash your sequined, beaded and embellished items at home.

Find a cotton pillowcase that is neutral colored. ( You don't want the pillow case to run all over your fabulous item).
Turn your embellished garment inside out and place it inside the pillow case.
Tie a knot as close to the item as you can so that the garment isn't swishing around inside the pillow case. Now you are ready to throw it in the washing machine. Be sure it is on the gentle cycle.
Lay flat to dry.

The pillow case protects your items from getting snagged on other items in the wash, or the machine. Also, since the delicate item is balled up tightly in the pillow case, it prevents your garment from being stretched out, or jostled too much inside the washer, and keeps it from rubbing against itself.
